Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae will begin letting some homeowners who are upside down in their mortgages to literally give back their home and have their debt cancelled. This is slated to begin on March 1st of this year.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak about the Luxury Real Estate Market to a group of Realtors here in Katy. I was joined by two other fabulous Realtors, Diane Kink, from the Woodlands and Cindy Blustein from Houston Metropolitan.
Toll Brothers, America’s Luxury Builder, is coming to Katy this FALL! They will begin building upper – scale luxury homes, from the $400,000s. The Reserve at Katy will be located off of FM 1463.
Statistics have just been reported for August 2012! Single-family home sales increased 20% compared to the numbers from last year!
Of course, you all know by now that home prices are sky-rocketing in the Houston and Katy/Richmond areas, but did you know that according to the Houston Chronicle, rents have “hit an all-time high”!
Statistics are in! For the last 14 months homes sales have increased here in the Houston area! We can’t seem to keep homes on the market here in Katy…Sellers are starting to see multiple offers on their properties which just escalate prices ABOVE the seller’s asking price!
Did you know that Economic Modeling Specialists International research shows that the Houston Area Self-Employed have increased by over 12% in the past 4 years! Houston is one of the top cities in the United States for Self Employment Growth! The Houston area boasts countless economic opportunities for entrepreneurs. The changes in the energy industry have also helped to maintain a healthy increase in the area of self employment for our Houston business men and women.
Home sales increased by 14% in June compared to last year’s numbers! Inventory for June is down and $1.7 billion worth of pre-owned homes were sold! If these numbers are any indication of what’s to come….July, 2012, is going to be phenomenal!
